I'm trying to use them to read my ID card using Windows 10 Pro. But neither of them seem to be recognized as USB devices by the OS. I've tried stopping and re-starting up the smart card reader service in device manager, but that makes no difference. The driver for the smartcard can be installed correctly from Windows Update via 'Optional Updates'->'Driver Updates' but not automatically via Plug and Play. When I try to use my eID with smart card reader, Windows Security pop-up window opens and recognizes my certificate (it is dark, I can select it). When I press OK, it says „checking status“ and nothing happens.
