I was in the IRR when I got promoted but found out they did not give CAC to IRR members. I could still log-in to AKO and use my AKO email but had limited . I was always taught you had to go and update your CAC every time you received a promotion. Your CAC serves as an identification card and needs to reflect your current rank.
