An NFC tag is a small integrated circuit consisting of a copper coil and some amount of storage. Data can be read or written to this tag only when another NFC device is brought near. This doesn't help me, because I need NFC functionality. What I don't need is a popup every few seconds telling me NFC tag type not supported. It must be possible to stop these popups from appearing, without switching off NFC functionality. Unlike NFC tags you are familiar with, a phone does not have a low powered processor capable of responding using the energy solely provided by the scanner. So, in that sense, your phone does not have an NFC tag. But if a phone has an NFC scanner, it by definition can also take on the role of an NFC receiver (aka tag).Stack Exchange Network. The tag in your photo is not an "NFC" type tag; it's an 125 kHz RFID tag. (You can tell from the number stamped on it. which, by the way, is the entire "tag data" that's stored inside. Knowing the number is enough to clone the RFID tag!) NFC "Mifare" tags also exist in the exact same shape, which might be why your building has a reader that's . I tried NFC Tools / NFC Tasks, but the app(s) just ask me to write data to a tag - my tag stickers are writable, but other cards are not. I can link the tag to Waze, and the NFC app remembers that, but nothing actually happens when I tap the tag, even when the app is running. So I gave up on those apps and deleted them.
After it was back up, I've been getting a "Nfc Service has stopped" dialog, like every 30-60 seconds. If I close the dialog, a new one appears soon. It makes using the phone quite hard as there is constantly that dialog blocking the screen. App Info says the culprit is "Nfc Service", go figure. 1. TLDR; Qi wireless charging can damage NFC tags and readers. I don't have any experience with using Qi adapters and NFC in conjunction but I would imagine there would be some interference. Depending on the position of your NFC chip, the Qi adapter may partially or completely cover the chip. Whilst this would only be a very thin layer of metal .

NFC allows you to share small payloads of data between an NFC tag and an Android-powered device, or between two Android-powered devices. Android-powered devices with NFC simultaneously support three main modes of operation: Reader/writer mode, allowing the NFC device to read and/or write passive NFC tags and stickers. The problems seems to be that it's not possible to emulate/modify the sector 0, which is often the UID (identifier). This question is linked (but probably outdated). It is possible physically for the phone hardware but there are software problems, payment works but it's provided by google. All of the apps I've tried off Google Play seem to only write the email address or other subset. I've tried apps such as NFC Task Launcher, NFC TagWriter by NXP and NFC Classic Tag Reader/Writer. I'd like to write a vCard with one or two urls, a note field, phone number, email, name, and title. And yes, it's under the storage limit for the tag.
